IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT Custom Earphones
After you place your order with us we will send you the instructions needed such as how to take the impressions, where to send them to, etc. Your order will be already entered at Westone waiting for your impressions. After receiving your impressions, your custom earphones will be shipped to you within 3-5 business days. Custom earphones are non-returnable. The price does not include the ear canal impression. To complete the process of manufacturing custom earphones, a local audiologist must take your ear canal impressions (usually between $30-$60). Don't worry about this. Detailed instructions will be sent via email right after you place your order.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to inherent differences between our actual materials and computer monitor displays, it is likely that some colors may vary slightly from the actual products. The colors shown are representative of the final product, but we cannot guarantee they will match exactly. This is simply a guide. Overall Rating for Westone CR1 Custom Fit Earphone - $279.00
After selling custom earphones for 5 years, we concluded that they are not for everyone. For that reason we stopped promoting them. Aside from the fact that your ear canal shape and size changes with time, we have found that there is a great chance of you prefering the universal fit earphones and the percentage that we have seen for that is pretty high. In our company, 50% of us prefer our universal fit earphones while the other half prefers the custom. Another aspect to take in account with the custom is that they are not as easy to put in and pull out as the universal fit ones. In my personal case, my custom earphones reach too far inside my ear canal, making them uncomfortable and sometimes painful. This is just my opinion. Also, when the impressions are not done correctly, you need to go back to your audiologist and "convince" him/her that he/she didn't do a good job and he/she needs to do it over (preferably at no charge :)). The process is frankly tricky, laborous, involves 4 different parties (customer, audiologist, manufacturer and reseller) so there is a lot that could go wrong and the end result is not guaranteed to be a better experience than what you get with the universal fit ones. In this day and age, where a Westone 3 for example, features a 3 way crossover with 3 drivers per earpiece, I personally made the decision to discontinue selling and promoting custom products on our site. Based on my experience and on a good percentage of our customers through these 5 years. More expensive does not mean better ;)
