Comments:The sound quality of these headphones is amazing. The sound stage is enormous and the price is excellent for what you get.I bought the white pearl ones, but in retrospect should have gone with the black ones. Shipping from Earphone Solutions was amazingly fast. Only took 2 days with their standard free shipping to San Francisco. |

Comments:What more can I say? These babies are absolutely great! The soundstage is sweet. However, mine requires more burn-in as my SF5 Pro only reached my place today. And to give comments on the shipping. 2 words. Top Notch! Ordered them last Monday and now they're here! In SINGAPORE! It took only 1 week to arrive in my country, usually it would take up to even more than a month but this is absolutely speedy fast! Oh yes, and as for the price of this IEM, it's even cheaper to buy it from EarphoneSolutions INCLUDING shipping charges than buying it right from my country. Another advantage is that my country only brings in the Black coloured SF5 Pro but they have 3 different types of colours here! And I'll definitely be back for more. Next stop : Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10 PRO! |

Comments:Finally decided to pick up a set of high end earphones and bought the UE Super FI 5 Pro Model. The sound is so much more clearer and detailed with these earphones. I'm not an audiophile, but i did want to enhance the music i listen to on my IPOD. I would not say that i was completely blown away by there earphones, but it definitely takes listening to music to a whole new experience. My only beef is the cord. It tends to bunch up a bit, but i guess over time, this will work itself out. Shipping Being from Canada, i decided to pay the extra $38 for International Fed Ex and got my earphones the next day which was great. If your not to picky about waiting for your earphones, then i would go with the regular international mail. I did have to pay duties of $20 when i picked up my order. Just wanted to point that out to other people in case they were wondering. Regarding Earphone Solutions. This website is great if your looking for information on higher end earphones. Any questions that i emailed to them were responded to within a couple of hours. Overall, i'm very happy with my purchase. |

Comments:I bought the UE Super.Fi 5 Pro earphones for my sister. I only listened to one song using them, but the overall effect of the noise isolation these provide and the extemely accurate sound is just amazing. The thing I was most impressed with was the low bass these earphones could reproduce. Normally, you would need a dedicated sub driver to make bass frequencies as low as these can go.I also had never paid as much for earphones as I did for these UE ones. I figured the difference might be marginal over cheaper alternatives. I think in this case, however, the product definately justifies the price. |

Comments:First time canal user. Stunning, can't believe I put up with the crap ipod issue for so long. 3 stars a bit harsh by reviewer as I found use and placement in ear canal easy even as a first time user. Only problem now is that friends sneak behind me and make fun of me as can't hear a thing except music. |

Comments:Well, it's been more than a year now since I first got my Super.fi 5Pro earphones. The sound and comfort continue to be outstanding. They easily put my original iPod earphones to shame. My only complaint is with the "think" cord, which is stiff and hard to maneuver with. All in all, I'd buy them again, and I continue to be highly satisfied with them. |

Comments:Just purchased these today along with my new pink ipod nano. I am so impressed with the sound and the noise cancelling its just amazing. I am on the those peeps that "knows" the difference between good sound and so-so sound. I can't wait to go to the gym and test them out!!! I was a bit leary about the price but now I see it was definitely worth it. Great soudn all around, including treble, mid-range and bass. Not to mention the fit in the ears is near perfect for my tiny ears, being a girl and all. The fit is most important else you cannot hear the "real" music like its suppose to be heard. I am going to request the thicker cable though since I am a bit rough on my phones. |

Comments:I have had my UE Super.fi 5's for about 6 months. They developed a tiny crack so I sent them back and got a brand new pair in less then a week. The customer service at UE is outstanding. I saw on UE's website that you can flip flop the r&l plugs to make the buds sit closer to your head. I like how it feals, more secure and I think the sound is a bit ritcher. I think that for the money UE super.fi 5's are the best thing going and you can't beat there customer service. They treat you like your one of there rock star customers. The 2 year warrenty is great. I realy love UE and Jeanette Coffey ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!! |

Comments:Although i'm no musician, infact i wouldn't even be able to play a guitar chord if god lent me his powers for the day but i've always been a huge fan of music. I listen to every genre of music, from classical to indie, back to folk. I've always invested in decent earphones because thats what brings out the true sound of a song. I've used B&O till those died (they were stylish and had good sound quality, but rather uncomfortable after wearing them for extended periods of time and had rather flimsy jack soldering... didnt take long for me to bust them) Most recently i resorted to Bose. I couldn't quite afford the quiet comfort2's so went for the triports. They did have good sound quality and kept my ears warm in the cold winter months in the uk, but they had extremely bad build quality. I had mine for less than 7 months before the soldering of the jack and the wires into the actual headphone just gave up in life and i could only hear out of one side of them and the main reason why this happened is because the wire is wayyyyy too long for walking and running purposes and i found it made the headphones more susceptible to being yanked. These are best left at home for watching TV with when its late at night. They were way too overpriced for a very plasticy lightweight product. So before they completely lost the will to live, i did some research into new earphones. This time i opted for in-canal phone to try and eliminate as much background noise as possible. Having heard how good the pro5's were i opted for these. I have to say the real plus point is the replaceable wire that connects to each earphone. I am jinxed with yanking the wires of my phones too much so that they don't work and i was not going to invest in a pair which would do the same. The length of the wire that comes with the pro5s is just right (46"). These are permanently glued to my ears. The sound is rich and full. The bass is not over powering and vocals are brought out very clearly. Unless heavy bass is a necessity to your ears don't use an equaliser (say on an iPod) to boost the bass because the sound does get a bit distorted. Infact for ipod users who want moderate bass that doesn't over power the tune, whether you are listening to rock or indie or folk or pop or even acoustic the best EQ setting is actually DANCE!!! gives just enough bass without the weird distorted sound of the bass booster. The phones are worth the price. I'm so impressed by their sound, noise cancelation, comfort and style that i wouldn't trade these for any other phones right now. I can't comment on the shures and westones but im extremely happy with these and they're a great investment if you want to get rid of those tinny in the box phones that come with music players now. A great product with a lot of attention paid to the needs of music fans. I would also highly recommend earphone solutions to anyone who asked me where to buy phones. I ordered these from the uk and they came within 4 days. Amazingly fast delivery. I paid extra for fedex delivery and i would definitely recommend that aswell because you can track your order very easily. Thanks for such a great piece of gear. |

Comments:These earphones sounded great when I purchased them here and now they sound EVEN BETTER since I replaced the cord! The replacement cord is a bit thicker with more shielding and the sound is richer and more full than before. I didnt think it was possible to improve the sound on the 5 pros! And, Earphone Solutions is the company for me for ANY earphone needs! I cant tell you how nice it is to do business with prompt and courteous folks. Jaime is always able to assist and in question I've got, prompt and extremely courteous. Its becomming less common to find people and companies that are like that these days!! |

Comments:I own a set of both the Westone UM2 and the Super.fi 5 Pro earphones. I bought the UM2's at the editor's recommendation. The UM2's are more comfortable than the Super.fi 5 Pro, but the Super.fi 5 Pro has better sound, in my opinion. The low end (bass) of the music is better reproduced on the Super.fi 5's. I use these to listen on an iPod Photo and I mostly listen to rock, blues or jazz. (For those that are interested, I set my bit rate at 192 kb/s minimum, often at 256.) The iPod does not have a good equalizer for enhancing the bass response. The bass enhancement is limited and I believe the bass is distorted somewhat when the bass booster option is used. I have a Sony mini-disk player also, and it has better bass enhancement features. The whole point of this is that if you have a device that has better bass enhancement features, the better bass of the Super.fi 5 Pro may not be as big an issue. It was to me. The bass on the Super.fi 5 is good enough that I can listen without any bass enhancement, something I could not do on the UM2's without starving the sound for bass. The mid range and treble are very clear and vivid on both models, but I think I would give the nod to the Super.fi Pro 5. Added to the fact that they are cheaper, I would recommend these over the UM2s. In my opinion, the sound is good on both, but I felt the sound was bass starved on the UM2s. Another item to let you know if you don't have any high end earphones yet, and are considering them for the first time: Yes, the sound is better than on your iPod white earbuds. The sound is really not bad on the iPod whites, but you are going up in price an order of magnitude, and you CAN hear a difference. I agree with those others that have stated that it is like hearing the music for the first time all over again. Also, with the sound isolation technology, I can listen at incredibly low volume. Just to give you an idea of this, I can turn the volume off on my iPod and still faintly hear the music--they are that sensitive. So while these are good for listening in a noisy environment, they really shine in a quiet environment, when you can get the full appreciation of what you are listening to. Having said the above, the UM2s are more comfortable--there's no doubt on this. Wired Magazine did a review for the Super.fi 5 Pro and made a comment about feeling like you have baby carrots stuck in your ears. It's nowhere near that bad, but it is not as comfortable as the UM2s. I figure that a person is buying these more for the sound, and as such, I would recommend the Super.fi 5 Pro over the UM2s. When you consider the price, the preference becomes even stronger, in my opinion. If you are a first time user, I agree that you have to learn to get the good fit, to make the best of the sound. I have had the UM2's for about 3 months, and the Super.fi 5 Pro for about 2 weeks. It did take me a bit to learn to insert each of them (I use a rotate-them-in technique on each--seems to work the best for me.) For those that are interested, I also have the Bose Quiet Comfort II headphones. I bought earphones because I didn't like the amount of space the Bose took in my briefcase and I was looking for something smaller. I travel on airplanes frequently and use the phones to listen to music. After using both the UM2s and the Bose, I believe the UM2 provide slightly better noise isolation through the soft tip ends than Bose does through the noise cancellation technology. I have yet to use the Super.fi 5 Pro on the air plane, but I believe from using them at home, that the noise isolation will be comparable to the UM2s. How does the sound compare from the Bose to the Super.fi or the UM2? I don't have a good answer for that yet. For one thing, I have almost stopped using the Bose for listening on my iPod, due to the size convenience of the UM2 or the Super.fi 5 Pro. There is no doubt that either of the in-ear models has mid range and treble just as good as the Bose, but I think for the bass, the nod still goes to the Bose. The Bose are better, in my opinion, for listening to movies, although to be fair and honest, my lisening to movies through the Bose has been limited to my home unit when I didn't want to disturb the rest of my family with the 5.1 surround sound. Also, the Bose need more power to drive them--they are set up to be used on either home stereos or personal audio, whereas the earphones are set up more for personal audio. I have to have the volume turned up on my iPod to listen to the Bose, whereas if you have the volume more than 1/4 using the earphones, either the UM2 or the Super.fi 5 Pro, you risk hearing damage. Concersely, the UM2's were not good for listening to my stereo--to much sensitivity. Another tidbit for those that are interested: I hear some people say that using the earphones makes them give up listening on their home stereo. I can't agree. I have a good home stereo system, and none of the three--the Bose, UM2 or the Super.fi 5 Pro comes close to the sound of the stereo for clarity, accuracy or presence. I don't know what else to say on these. I hope this was helpful. I have tried to write down the things that I would have been interested in. |

Comments:Compared to my Ety ER6i's and a borrowed pair of Ety Er-4S, the Super.fi 5 pros are :slightly rolled off on the top end, a good thing. Fit is close but not quite as comfy as the 6i's, the 4s never did feel quite right. I know that you can make changes, but I am giving my 1st impression with the cushions that are installed right out of the package. The Sound: 1st ... the UE 5Pros, great mids good highs and pretty respectable lows. 2nd... the 6i's from Etymotic, a little bright, pretty good mids and lows that aren't too bad. These are my gym monitors. And last IMHO are the ER-4s by Etymotic, for the price I had expected soooo much more. They are good but not quite up to the Ultimate Ears for bass, mids, the top end was slightly better with the Etys. Detail was quite good with the Etymotic 4S, but not enough to blow me away and justify the price difference. I run all of my monitors thru a Total Airhead Amp, and use a 5th Gen. IPod 30GB. You really can't lose with any of these monitors... I am using the Ultimate Ears for serious couch listening, the Etymotic 6i's for the gym, and have returned the Etymotic 4s monitors to my co-worker, who happens to love them. A special thanks to the crew at Earphone solutions, great prices and super fast shipping!!! How the **ll do you use the metal case to store your UE's? Respectfully , Wild Bill of Poway Ca. |

Comments:WOW! I can't bring myself to take 'em out. I bought these in order to save my hearing. I'm a drummer and singer in a number of bands, some of which play at ear splitting volumes. I've tried wearing earplugs but singing with your ears plugged dosen't work very well so I searched and searched for some reasonably priced solution and finally decided on the 5Pro's, the best desicion I've made in years. The sound quality is excellent, no exagerated boosts anywhere, a little light on the high end but overall great quality, plenty of bass. I've been using them with my ipod also and I'm hearing stuff I never knew was there. Not only is the sound amazing but I don't need to crank the volume anymore due to external noise, there's hardly any with these which is precisely what I was looking to do for all of my musical experiences. Now when I gig and practice I run the 5Pro's out of a monitor send or headphone out of the board and I've got total control over the volume coming into my ears. No more ringing ears after gigs. I LOVE THESE! |

Comments:Thank you Ultimate ears!! I am the first to admit when I'm wrong and I was wrong. I really thought that Shure was the last word in sound for earphones. I've had 3 versions of Shure earphones and had the orginal sony ex71 before them. So when I kept readying all these reports about how much better the UM's were I didn't believe them until I took a chance and got some with the intention to take them back because all I wanted to do was prove to myself that I was right about my Shures. Within 5 minutes into my playlist I then understood why so many people are starting to see that there is a new kid on the block that has taking sound to another level. And if you ever get a chance to speak to their customer service you would conclude that this company is not only has the best earphones under $500 but also has the best customer service. They treat you with so much importance. I was even offered a thicker cord because they pointed out they their company wanted to make sure nobody had a excuse to rate them below their deserving perfect rating just because their cord wasn't as thick as other companies. And to top it off they sent me a box of free stuff. I love this company and my superfi 5 pro's earphones and now have a new #1 source for earphones period. |

Comments:I've been using B&O A8's for a few years as my main mobile phones. For gym use, I also have a pair of Sony MDR's. Being honest, I have huge ear canals and have always been wary of 'in-ear' models. The Sony's have a tendency to fall out when I start to work hard...So it was a leap of faith to invest in the 5Pros - and I have to say that I'm glad I did it. I'm afraid that my faithful A8's haven't been near my ears for weeks now - the UE's are just too good. The only thing that would really be great is for slightly larger sized foam buds - then I'd probably never take them out of my ears...! |

Comments:After a long search for a pair of good earphones that my discriminating ears could enjoy—and that I could carry around with me wherever I go—I decided to spend a good amount of money, and get something I would enjoy, ending this everlasting search for the best cheap earphone. Honestly, it never occurred to me that musicians also do listen to iPods, and that they would not settle for a low quality sound. I read review after review, and there was one brand that had the most writings: Ultimate Ears. So, I decided to order a pair of custom UM 5c’s. But, since I did not want to wait for them to be made without getting the benefit of the good sound, I also ordered a pair of super.fi 5Pro’s from Earphonesolutions.com, and give them to my partner after I receive my custom model.First, I would recommend anyone seeking for earphones to use Earphone Solutions. Their service was impeccable, and I had the product in my hands within the three days, as promised, via Fedex. Also, there is no other shop that would have a lower price. With the advertised rebate from Ultimate Ears—which was not available anywhere else—I paid around $150 for the pair of super.fi 5Pro’s that anywhere else cost $250. What a deal! Since I was a kid, I loved music. During my teenage years, portable earphones, like the ones today, did not exist, but I always wanted to carry the music with me. I lived in Argentina, and I owned a Philips boom box imported from the Netherlands with incredibly good sound at the time. I also worked at a hospital where stethoscopes to listen to patient’s hearts were plenty and sometimes disposed of. I made myself a pair of earphones with one of them, using two of the old mono earphones used to listen to radios. This is how much I loved music, and they worked! Today, I don’t have to make my own, and there is Ultimate Ears to build professional products, instead. Earphonesolutions.com includes some tips on what to expect from the new in-ear product I just got: “In-ear earphones almost never sound good out of the box”, it says. How untrue! I turned my iPod to Laurie Anderson’s “Strange Angels”, and I heard detail in sound I had not heard before with a pair of earphones. My home system is a B&K 507 paired with KEF Q series speakers, and I can say that the Super.fi’s were almost better than my home system. The clarity in sound is superb, very likely as a result of the dual drivers inside each earpiece. Highs are crystal clear with no distortion. The lows are powerful without being overbearing. The mid is balanced to perfectly match the overall quality of sound. The singer’s diction is fully revealed through these earphones. I found sound separation across the full spectrum that allowed me to hear exactly where the notes came from, as if being on-stage surrounded by music. The sound quality is so good that I don’t have to raise the volume on my iPod to hear details, not any more, which will save my ears for years of musical enjoyment. Now, with such a tight outside noise blockage, I just need to watch out for cars when crossing the New York City streets! My brain does not let me take them off. I feel like I have found a new way to being transported to where the artist wants me to be through the sound. Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5Pro is the answer for anyone looking at purchasing a pair of good quality in-ear earphones. I highly recommend them. I can’t wait for my custom-made UE 5c’s to arrive! |

Comments:A friend turned me on to the shure product line. I ordered a pair of the e3c's and while I was impressed with the clarity, there was virtually no low end in the audio spectrum. I returned them and opted for the super.fi pro 5's due to the price and dual driver technology. Got these about a week ago and I've had to charge my ipod 3 times already! I can't put it down. The music literally comes to life! I'm hearing detail of individual instruments as well as sounds never heard before with the sony fontopias I started with. The low end is precise and clear. Not as powerful as a 500watt home theater sub, but definitely satisfies my taste. Not as crisp on the high end as the e3c’s, but overall a much greater listening experience. So glad I returned the e3c's. |

Comments:Here it goes...I have been painstakingly in search of an in ear monitor that would bring the iPod alive and make it sound full. This includes purchasing a headphone amp and several pairs of headphones and earphones to include the Sure E3c's. The Superfi 5pros finally unleash the bass in the iPod. This is without the amp and the eq off. Let's face it, the eq is almost useless anyway with the lack of custom settings and the distortion it adds. The headphone amp I purchased is GREAT! But impracticle for everyday mobile use, perfect in an airplane or at home however. Apple needs to come out with an audiophile grade iPod with a better amplifier and an eq that is lacking in distortion and able to be set by the user. For this, I would pay a higher premium. Forget all the video and podcast gimicks. The iPod is the undisputed winner in the ease of use and ergonimoics categorey. Now let's get it sounding better. Are you listening Apple? Even better earphones such as the Superfi 5pros would benefit from a better sounding iPod. Digital music is not the cause of what is lacking in the iPod's sound as we have the ability to load our iPod's at whatever quality level we are accustomed to. The Superfi 5pros are a must have for anybody who cares about the level of sound quality they pipe into their ears. |

Comments:Great prodcut. I think it kills the Shure E4c as it has a really good bass response. Punchy/clean is the best way to describe it. Although it lacks in the highs dept. its a trade off. Using these with the iPod and I find they are a GREAT match together. The iPod's EQ is very weak but with these you'll hear your music in a different light. Although they may be uncomfortable to some the trade off is tone. The Shure E4c's have a better design and fit but the tone lacks in the bass dept. with the iPod. |
