First of all, to ES for promptly processing my order. I received my order in 2.5 days!! Now about the earphones, I have a collection of over 20 earphones and headphones, including Shure SE530 and Bose Quiet Comfort 3, and I can rate this earphone as the most super in sound quality!!
Pros:
* Great dynamic Bass with no trade offs in the treble.
* Very cheap price considering the super sound response!!
Cons:
* Bulky - not comfortable good for Asian ears
* Leaking external sound - very annoying to people around, especially if one is in a crowded commuter Tokyo train.

I bought these Earphones based on the reviews both here and on other websites (but purchased here for the excellent service and best pricing). They are certainly base rich and blow my old Shure Earphones out of the water for clarity. They are very large but I find them to be comfortable and my ears adjusted to them very quickly (there was a little discomfort the first two times using them). These are great for Hip Hop, Rap, R&B and Country music with the extended Bass output. In my opinion they are just a little Bass heavy for some other types of music but still very nice to listen to even then. These are great Earphones and well worth the money!

right, i have only had these headphones for a lil while, but so far i am what you might call a satisfied customer. not only with the earphones, but also with the service of the website. the earphones are amazing, it makes me wonder if i have ever really listened to music before. unlike other reviews, i can't say that i have had more expensive earphones or other super top of the range ones, but i had a pair of very high quality sony's and they sound like rubbish, literaly rubbish compared to these. the superfi 5 range is incredible. i have no complaints other than i wish i had found them sooner. music and sound is my life and these have very much improved said life.

The best sounding headphones Ive ever used. I use them everyday and I love them. I am currently deployed and spend a lot of time on helocopters and transport aircraft. I use these headphones instead of ear protection and they work great. Even in noisy aircraft the music sounds crisp and clear. Crisp highs and thumping lows. Great headphones. The only issue I have with them is the short cable. It really needs to be longer. Other than that, I'm done buying headphones. If I were to lose these tommorow I would buy another set right away.

I listen to Rock from the 60's and 70's, with the Ultimate Ears Super .fi 5 EB Earphones the music finally sounds like it should. Lots of strong bass supporting the mid range and crisp high notes. These are not just for Hip-Hop or rap, I don't even listen to that.
If you want to here Led Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, Aerosmith, The Doors, the way they wanted you to, get a pair of these earphones, you will love the sound.
It takes a few tries putting these earphones in your ears to get the proper fit and seal. Don't give up if you don't get it correct the first couple of times, your efforts will be rewarded.
The metal carrying case is perfect, it holds the earphones and an iPod Shuffle with no problem. Now go buy these earphones, .....Now!!

When it comes to money I am very careful, like a ninja! I research and research, reading forum post after forum post looking for the best earphones for my needs.
I am a University of Toronto student and commute via subway to the downtown core 5 days a week, thats 60 minutes each way. If I do not have music to listen to, I will go crazy, and on top of that I will certainly fall asleep and miss my stop.
That being said, I love music. I love nice clean instrumentals and with regards to bass..lets just say I'm a "bass head." :) These earphones produce my kinda sound; with a dedicated diaphragm driver for my precious bass, that's my kind of thinking. Out of the box, I was not that impressed, but of course I let them burn-in for 48-hours, and by the end it was Perfect! The bass really matured and tightened up as time went on. After about 3 weeks of use these earphones still impress me with the amount of bass produced and how clean the highs are considering their low-frequency capabilities. They are my most valued possession, my precious if you will, and I thank EarphoneSolutions for making it possible!

Haven't had a chance to use them too much but so far I'm impressed. They compare and exceed my Bose earphones and after changing to the smaller ear tips noise was isolated which was one of the reasons I order them. I was on a recent bus trip with my Bose eaprhones and itouch trying to watch a movie but just could not make the conversations. I know being a senior might have a bearing on my hearing abilitiy but I confident these earphones will do the job because when my wife tried to talk to me I had to remove them.

I had a pair of Sony Ex 90 buds that just blew on me. Don't ask me how but a woofer went. I really loved them. I bought these UE EB's because I lobe bass. These do have bass, but I have to say it's great on dance music but for rock just OK. The right fit is important and the foam is by far the best but only comes with one pair and they don't last long. I had to buy some more foams and they arrived today. They are from a company called Comply and I have read good things about them.
Over all I have to say the Sony's are not that much less in quality at about a third the price. And there is a mod you can do with saran wrap that covers the vents and gives them more bass but mine crapped before I could try it. These are good though, but not perfect and not as good as the reviews I read. They did not blow me away like I was expecting.

As another reviewer has already pointed out, these headphones often get mediocre reviews from the audiophile community because it does not produce a "flat" response. In the audiophile community, flat response equals good sound. According to the dictionary, an audiophiles are "people who seek to listen to music at a level of quality as close to the original performance as possible". Knowing this, it makes sense that a flat response is desired in order to create a sound closest to that of the original performance. But for me, a hearty bass makes the listening experience much more enjoyable.
Enter the UE Super.fi 5 EB earphones. Ultimate Ears promises astounding bass while maintaining crystal clear highs and mids. I was skeptical. After trying many earphones, it always seemed that those with ample bass lost definition of the highs and mids. After all, it does make sense. In order for one element of the sound to be stronger, the others must be weaker, right? Fortunately, I was wrong. Out of the box, these earphones had it all. Sound is difficult to describe in words, especially considering everybody has different sonic preferences, but for me, the EB's produced rich, powerful bass with well defined mids and highs. It was audio nirvana. My favorite song to judge a pair of earphones is The Killers' "All these Things That I've Done". It has a great mix of bass, mids & highs to come to a proper conclusion about earphones. With some of my previous bass-heavy earphones, the bass guitar would totally drown out the rockin' guitar riff that I love so much. With song other bass-weak earphones, all I heard was the guitar riff. With the EB's, I got to hear everything.
Sound isolation is superb. These all but completely block out the roar of my lawn mower.
Comfort is also a very personal thing. I found these to be comfortable for only a few hours at a time. The discomfort doesn't come while wearing them, but more during removal.
I run a lot. I decided to give these a shot. I must say, I was a bit let down. While running, the seal broke. They still stayed in my ears, but that perfect, I-can't-hear-anything seal broke. To be honest, it really doesn't make that big of a difference while running. Any runner will tell you that sound quality isn't exactly you're first priority during mile-5. As long as they stay in, I'm happy.
My favorite tips were the dual-flange tips. I got the best seal with them, and as a result, the best bass response. Also, licking the tips before insertion is really the only way to get that perfect seal. Gross the first time, but after that, all you care about is the sound.
In conclusion, don't take the "expert" reviews at face value. Be sure to buy from EarphoneSolutions. They stand by the product & have impeccable costumer service. Don't hesitate to buy!

These are great in areas of construction, material, and sound quality. The bass is awesome. The only negative I can give is the appearance. They do stick out a bit which makes wearing hats difficult. I am a college student and I've even had a few people come up and ask me about them. But I really don't care how they look because they produce great sound. You won't be disappointed.

I just got these about 3 weeks ago and so far they are great. I found that the small and conical earpieces are the most comfortable and give the best seal. I am a big fan of the behind the ear loop which helps keep the wire out of the way and helps secure them especially during exercise.
The chord is a lot thicker than others ive owned which is a plus and the fact that it's replaceable is a huge plus. Overall, the sound quality couldn't be better. I listen to alternative, rap, classical, jazz, metal, pretty much everything....and it all sounds exactly large speakers in a room.
The only negatives I could find was less than 100% isolation because the phones are ported. But once the music is playing you would never notice. The other negative is their appearance. They do stick out a bit and look out of the ordinary (which I think is cool) and I've even been asked about them a few times on campus (I am a college student). Because of this it is difficult to lie on a pillow with them on or wear a big hat but this really doesn't bother me. Construction is high quality, sound is high quality, and the deal is top notch its a no brainer to buy these.

I've tried a few in-ear head phones and have always had problems with them staying in my ears. Not the UE Super.fi 5 EBs though. I use them when I'm cleaning, walking the dog, or running and never have a problem.
Now the sound. I'm a total sound quality snob, so trust me when I say the one word that best describes the sound produced by these earphones is "RICH". The lows are so accurate and smooth. I can't get these things to distort or rattle no matter how loud I crank it up. I listen to a lot of hip-hop and electronica so the contrast between the smooth lows and crisp highs is important. These Super.fi 5 EBs get the job done.
Unfortunately, now my wife has taken mine and won't give them back so I'll need a second pair. These are a great buy!

I have used a number of earphones for my ipod... sony, skull candy, ipod originals, ipod second version....... and so on...but i always missed that low end in all of the phones...you can get some bass in sony but they swallow the sound......
I was researching for 3 weeks almost trying to get a expensive professional quality earphones and ended up in "Ultimate ear EB"
I opened the package and had a little trouble sliding the ear loops into my ears since this was the first time i am useing a loop style earphones.... In a few minutes it set very well isolating most of the sound... I am a huge trance freak and used to hear lots of low end bass" which is wat i look for .........
As soon as i switched on my ipod "ULtiamte ears EB" did a ultiamte job ... It opened up a new Sound space... "A never heard before clartiy, with excellent very low ends without booms, very good midrange ".. I was so surprised at the songs i used to listen usually..... I had missed so much notes all thses years....
A 100% recommendation for anybody who is looking for cost effective buy of earphone and looking for studio quality sound.... GOOD JOB Ultimate ears EB team .... HAPPY LISTENING ALL KEEP the records spinnin...........
The only cons i could tell to the buyers is not meant for really small ears...though you could try with the small silicone flanges they provide...... But if you are an audio freak this is the right stuff for you.... thank you very much!

I just received these today. I've used Shure E2C and the Bose Triport ear buds. Perhaps Shure has increased some of the mids and bass with the new SE model, but my pair had almost zero. The highs were glorious, but that's all there was. The Bose, well, they have good build quality and that's about it. Very unnatural sound and muddled bass.
I haven't even burned these Superfi EBs in yet and I'm amazed. I would not want less bass than these produce, but I never want muddled bass again. These are awesome with very nice separation between the tight bass, mid, and clear highs. Aside from being gigantic in size, these are the perfect canal phone for me.

I’ve had these headphones for a month now. One word: OUTSTANDING! You will not be disappointed at all. They do the job convincingly and then some.
I’d like to comment about the reviews on the EB’s and the PRO 5’s that the expert reviewers have given on these sets. Trust me I’m not knocking the pro’s but I have a little musical background and want to share some opinions here. All the reviewers give the PRO 5’s a better rating because of their FLAT response. In the audiophile world “flat” sound has always been considered the best way to go in listening to music. Example: look at your “highend”audio equipment, no bass or treble controls. So where am I going here, I bet if you removed the bass output on both the Pro 5’s and EB’s the mids and highs would sound identical,considering that both sets have the same frequency response and similar drivers.
All I am saying here is ,to those shopping around for IE phones,don’t let the reviewers scare you into thinking you are sacrificing sound by buying the EB’s.
Trust me,these things ARE NOT boomy. Boomy is the Bose IE Triports. Had a friend listen to the Bose and my EB’s,and he liked the boominess of the Triports better. He said the Bose had a lot more bass. They are trying to make up for lack of seal in the ear setup,but very little high end.
If you want a little extra punch in the low end and not sacrifice the mids and the high’s, then the EB’s are for you and you’ll save 40 bucks to boot.. IF want flat then the PRO 5’s will do the job and then some, with a little more sound isolation. Joe D.

I bought these IEMs on a tuesday and received them on thursday with only the rush shipping...a testament to the fast service of earphonesolutions.com. On to the earphones, I've never been happier with another set of headphones/earphones. The Super.fi 5 EB are more comfortable to me than even traditional headphones (over the head). On to the sound quality...amazing. I like some other reviewers was a little worried about these having too much bass. Not the case for me, I find these to be very well balanced. The bass is very much there and very accurate, the mids and highs are great also. There is so much clarity from these little buggers it's astonishing...especially for $150. I have to say that I am impressed! I was concerned that these might have too much bass, but that is just not the case. The bass is very, very accurate and not overpowering at all. The midrange is good and the high frequencies are just about perfect to me. Worth every penny.

Strong bass however its bulky size will turn many people off. It's uncomfortable for most ear sizes.
EB stands for EXTENDED BASS and that is exactly what they are. Not a good option if you have small ears.
