Too much work
By Bruno from Sao Paulo, Brazil on October 13, 2011

The TripleFi were my first serious (expensive) headphones. I was amazed at the sound. The midrange is quite recessed, but on the styles of music I listen to that's actually a good thing. Incredible bass, great treble. But they are huge, difficult to wear -you will look dorky-, and VERY fragile. I am really careful with my phones, but went through 2 pairs of TripleFis in 3 months (first one, the cable broke. on the replacement, an armature came loose and the sound became distorted). I was willing to put up with all this, because of the sound. But then I discovered the Westone 3 and never looked back.
Pros:
- Sound qualityCons:
- Size
- Looks
- MidrangeI have owned the westone 3, se530, and UE-4 custom and these are the BEST!

**For starters I like treble over bass**
These earphones present ice cream smooth sound across the whole spectrum!
Soundstage is MUCH larger then the se535 and westone3.
The westone3 has tubby bass and shrill highs. I cannot see the advantage of their "three-way design" (boosted highs and bass with weak midrange).
The se530 is very neutral and is not a "fun" sounding earphone but has a great refrence sound (balance).
These headphones are more difficult to get the perfect fit over the se535 and westone3.
I feel that the "dual-bore" ear tip design allows more seperation in the sound. It feels like you are in the recording studio while the westone3 and se535 sound like you are listening to some high end hi-fi setup.
All and all, I bought 3 pairs of these because I have not come across any better earphones except for customs and I would like backups because these only have a 1 year warranty.
Check the reviews for these earphones at amazon.com and see for yourself. Many triple.fi owners also own the SE530 and have prefer the triple.fi over the se530.
I purchased my first set from this site in 2007 before they quit carrying UE. After seeing their negitive take on this product, I felt compelled to leave a review!
Thanks for reading my review. -Steven

Merchant Response:
I own a pair but prefer the 5Pro which I also own. Personally the fit of Shures and Westones just fit me so much better. Thanks for the feedback.UE Triple Fi 10 Pro

it can't plug my ear properly and the wire is very bad quality..DON'T buy it..
I like the sound, but they...

They sound as good as a Bose head phone. But I have a problem with the plug in jack. You see the jack piece at the end of the jack broke off and it is now lodged in my ipod. I am having difficulty getting that piece out of the ipod, because I do not have anything small enough to get it out. I have never seen this happen before in other products with this type of jack. So for $346.95 including tax, I think they really did not function as I had hoped.
