This iPhone chord with control for phone answering volume and track advance is what you need if you want to get your iPhone to be able to take a call while using Shure 535 SE HEAD PHONES the chord changes out very easy and the quality of Shure is there. Control works great phone call easy and clear.

OK but nothing special

I bought this along with a pair of Shure SE535 to use with my iPhone 4, and unfortunately I think that there are more negatives than positives.
At first touch I was a disappointed, the wiring feels and looks kind of cheap especially after seeing and touching the Kevlar coated wiring of the SE535. It's too bad that the cable only comes in black, I would have liked to see a transparent version to go along with the clear SE models being released of late.
One of the new features of the SE535 is the conformable ear loops but if you use this cabling you lose that feature.
It's not all bad, as it looks much better than the previous model (thinner, feels lighter and much more streamlined) and if you pickup this PLUS model you get volume controls. Since the remote/mic is no longer the joining piece between the earphones and the rest of the cabling the remote is now placed higher up and you won't have to worry about whether you need to speak louder or get closer to the mic to talk. As for the mic quality, it's alright no problems on the other end and hearing conversations isn't bad.
Bottom line: using this cable does provide me with some benefits over using the stock cabling but it has its trade-offs which quite frankly I think should not be the case, it should add to what is already a great package not take anything away especially if you pay extra. I would still recommend this product but just make sure you weight the pros and cons.
Pros:
- Much better looking than the model it replaces
- Microphone is higher up
- Works great with voice controlCons:
- No longer comes with shirt clip
- Only available in black
- No conformable ear loops
- Will not fit with official Apple bumper
- Wiring seems sub-par compared to bundled earphone cables
- Since controls are now in-line there is no more upper wiring adjustment nubI would recommend this item to a friend.
