Flimsy AND Expensive

Contrary to what others are saying, the bass on these earbuds is fine if you wear them properly (read the manual), but I've now had two pairs die on me already (the right side becomes inaudible after about 2 months of use?) Avoid these unless you find a great deal with a warranty.

Where's the bass?

Pros: good fit to block out ambient noise and comfortable, good mid to high range sounds, carrying case, extension cord, quality construction
Cons: price and tinny sound due to essentially little low frequency (bass) reproduction
For the money, I was underwhelmed with the lack of bass. Might not be as important for classical music but for the popular sounds of the 70's, 80's and 90's, proper bass output is essential.

the earbuds are good.
they are almost indestructible, even the cords.
but the sound is quite flat, not a good bass and not a very good treble
the sound is a lot better than the standard ear buds tho
they tend to fall out of your ears every now and then
i have them for over a year now, the only thing is that the paint has come off, so excellent building quality
average sound for the price

GOOD but not $100 GOOD

Pros: Good sound across the board and fairly comfortable.
Cons: Cost
This is a comparison to the standard earbuds that come with the iPod Touch, SE110's and the Bose in ear headphones. The Bose (which I soon returned after giving them a good listen) they had good BASS to them but also a real flat & muddy sounding high end & mid range. The SE110's are fairly comfortable with varying ear pieces to create the proper fit. This is very important. You need to create the proper seal to get the best sound and cancel outside noise. The sound is better than the standard earbuds all the way around. But I wouldn't say it's a HUGE improvement over the standard earbuds (which cost $30). Just a slight improvement across the board. The sound is equal and clean (from Bass to Mids to Highs). But for $70 more than the standard earbuds I expected a little bit more out of them? Not sure if I will keep them or not.

SE110

Definitely brings new life to my music collection. It's amazing when I can actually hear the musician's hands moving down the guitar strings to the next chord, something I never knew was even on the recordings. I hope I never have to part with these.

Use Them Everyday

I have been using these phones everyday for the last month and they are incredibly comfortable and sound great!

The SE110 is a good entry level in-ear earphones and comes with Shure's 2 year warranty when you have an invoice from Earphone Solutions. It has been replaced by the SE115 (which has dynamic drivers instead). Shure claims that the bass was improved by the change although we suspect it might also have something to do with the production cost.

First time buyers into the higher-end in-ear earphones market. Excellent upgrade from the Apple buds.
