Great
By Jenn from FL on July 5, 2010
I needed a set of sleeves that are just a bit smaller than the soft silicone ones I received with my Shure earphones. My left ear canal seems to be a little smaller than my right so even the smallest sleeve would hurt. These solved the problem. The only thing I don't like is they are white so they discolor very fast. Though they seem to go in and out a lot better too.
Pros:
Adjustable
Cons:
Color

comfort& awesome bass
By james from honolulu HI on June 5, 2010
use these with the W2 & sony X MP3,I cut the stems so they flush with the big end flange, these tips sound better then the p-standard foams I was using.

Much cheaper than they used to be
By J. LEWIS from Batitmore, MD on May 31, 2010
THE THREE PACK IS CERTAINLY CHEAPER THAN THE INDIVIDUAL PACKAGES USED TO BE, AND A GOOD VALUE TO MY OPINION. THE SELLER IN THIS CASE WAS PRICED RIGHT, HAD A SOLID DELIVERY TIME, AND I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. NOTHING MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THE PRODUCT - IT'S A TIP FOR SHURES E5 (AND OTHER) IN-EAR MONITORS. I PREFER THE TRIPLE FLANGES SLEEVE TO THE SINGLES, THEY FIT BETTER (IE. STAY IN BETTER) AND ARE COMFORTABLE FOR A NIGHT OF GIGGING.
Pros:
PRICE, VALUE, COMFORT.
Cons:
SHURE FINALLY BEGAIN INCLUDING THESE WITH NEW SETS OF PHONES A YEAR OR SO BACK. MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.

Secure fit, a bit uncomfortable
By Paul from MD on March 31, 2010
I use the triple flange tips with my UM-1 earphones for playing keyboards during church services.

The triple flange tips fit very securely and seal in the ear well. I have no fear of them falling out as I felt with the short and long Comply tips (less so for the long).
Stage noise was blocked very well. For example, I remember one time the drums were too soft in my mix and even though I was directly in front of the set I had trouble finding the drums and tempo among the other instruments in my mix. As I pulled an earphone out, I found that the drum set was quite loud and just how well the stage noise was blocked.

These tips are definitely less comfortable than foam tips:
The practice was going on for a steady 2 hours, and I had been removing the earpieces frequently to converse with the band. I'm sure the foam tips would've been uncomfortable also but probably not as painful to re-insert.
But if frequently removing and reinserting, the flange tips don't need to be compressed and rolled every time they're inserted as the foam tips do. The flange tips tend to bend more while being inserted; ear needs to be pulled a bit sometimes to get them in.

So, if you're worried about your ears hurting, you may want to consider foam tips. If you want a better seal, get these. Bad ear wax? These tips can be cleaned easily.
Pros:
secure fit
great seal
easily cleaned
Cons:
difficult to insert
uncomfortable for extensive use

works for me
By RJ from Chicago,IL on February 14, 2010
Nothing is perfect. I tried all the plugs that came with my earphones and they all have their advantages and disadvantage. I found these to be the best for me.

Focused bass response, most comfortable
By Jim from Murrieta, Ca on January 18, 2010
These sleeves are by far better than the foam inserts in nearly every way.
- Better low end response more focused bass and more present low end.
- Considerably more comfortable than any other insert.
- Very easy to remove and replace, much more than the foam inserts.
- Can be easily cleaned and reused.
- Don't show dirt or collect unwanted gunk.
- Don't wear out after short use.

Pros:
same as review
Cons:
- Don't isolate or block out ambient sound quite as well as foam inserts do. It's very subtle though.
-Trimming the end off to fit my ear was trial and error, and ruined a pair of sleeves. What worked for me was to cut the small end off and being cautious not to cut to close to the corresponding cup. The rubber can be stretched to taunt and when returning to its original shape you can easily cut into the next cup.

best for runners
By liddy from orlando on January 2, 2010
These are the only earphones that stay in your ear with the triple flange sleeves. Awesome. The key is the triple flange. you can adjust them in length if needed. But no matter how expensive and high rated my Shures were it is the triple flange that make me love using them
Pros:
Stay in place
Cons:
not in black

Triple flange sleeves
By Matthew from New Zealand on September 29, 2009
(Purchased these with the UM2 earphones) I have to totally agree as others in previous reviews noted the UM2 standard foam plugs are left wanting. I removed the 2 smallest cones to allow a better fit so it is just a matter of "trying them on for size" and adjust as needed. Highly recommend these.
Pros:
*Customizable
*Good noise suppression
*Comfortable to wear over long periods
Cons:
None aware of

Triple Flange Sleeves
By Keith Kingsburgh from USA on June 4, 2009
Used the Triple Flange Sleeves on Westone UM2 and they are far superior to the foam plug supplied with the earphones. They sit comfortably in the ear after a minor adjustment, removing the first flange, and isolating sound extremely well. A must buy.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Great ear tips
By Wesley from San Mateo, California on May 25, 2009
I use them with my UM3X. They isolate well. I recommend them to people with large ear canals. The tips can be shorten for a shallower fit. They retain both treble and bass quite well.

triple flange sleeves
By Craigo on March 9, 2009
If you like this sort of feel in your ear then don't hesitate. My 23 year old daughter who knows everything said but my ears are so small those will never work. I insisted she give them a try and to please humor the old man. I have not seen a smile on her face so angelic and innocently blissful since she was little. Then it was" I forgot you do know some stuff dad". Back to my review, I remember when the classic rock was new music, so to hear stuff isolated so well you can almost see the needle moving on the record during the first listen, yea.

Triple Flangle Sleeves
By Paul Thornett on February 17, 2009
I get outstanding sound from these sleeves, but only after removing the topmost flange. They actually sound better than the custom-built ear-pieces I had made a few years ago - more bass, more comfort!

best ive heard so far
By yvonne on February 4, 2009
i have the um1. i already wore out the foam ear plugs it came with i replaced them with the triple flange sleeves. i cut the tips off of them as was suggested and they work better than the foam plugs. they stay in my ears thru running and all my exercizing. i would recogment these if your using your headphones while your working out.

"FINALLY"
By DON on January 5, 2009
I OWN WESTONE UM2 AND V.MODA VIBES. I RETURNED THE BOSE. NEVER GOT THE SOUND OR COMFORT I READ ABOUT OR KNEW I SHOULD GET WITH EITHER FOAM OR RUBBER UNTIL THE TRIPLE FLANGE SLEEVES.
WHAT I DID WAS CUT OFF THE SMALL THIRD FLANGE. NOW A PERFECT FIT WITH THE PERFECT SEAL AND PERFECT SOUND. "FINALLY"

Perfect (for me)!
By Phillip Dimor on December 31, 2008
I use these with my Westone UM1s. Many people on headphone forums recommend cutting the smallest tip off and cutting a bit of the stem/stalk off (thus turning these triflanges into biflanges).

I find them extremely comfortable, DURABLE, and they isolate me from everything.

The comply foams are too small for my ears and fall out, even the long/regular ones. These stay in.

Not happy at ALL
By Frank Casali on December 22, 2008
these sleeves are terrible. I would not recommend them to anyone. Going back to foam
sleeves for my westons!!!!

Perfect
By Craig on December 19, 2008
I use these flange sleeves with my UM2's at the gym. I cut off the smallest flange and this makes the perfect combination for me.

Another Level
By Jack on July 14, 2008
What an improvement over the foam tips that felt like a dry fat finger in your ear. Never did get used to the feeling. These glide in and and ooze bass with aplomb. I may never take my Westones off.

These Rock

Don't mess with foam ever again. These go in much easier. Trimmed them up to fit and they sound excellent. Much more comfortable . I have the UM-1s. Thanks so much.

FOR A PERFECT FIT
By PHIL on September 21, 2007
After fighting for months with the sponges provided with my UM-2, these puppies are the perfect solution and fit. They need to be cut front and back for a customt fit and Voila!

If they are to long
By Hans Sweden on March 13, 2007
Just use a pair of sharp scissors and snip off the top/smallest flange. Invert the top/smallest flange for an easy and more precise cut. Then trim the stem so it is paralell with the bottom/biggest flange.

good fit, big bottom
By Stu Cook on February 1, 2007
These buds have more bass than the foamies, and are more comfortable, too.

By figorski on April 8, 2006
How do you have to put them on? They are too long for my ears Do I have to cut them?

By Jeff Sanders on January 7, 2006
These also fit the Koss "Sparkplug" and "Plug". These stay in the ear MUCH better than any of the Koss tips.

By Anissa on July 12, 2005
These are very comfortable, even for smaller ears. I love them!

By Chris Edmonds on June 3, 2005
These are comfortable to wear for HOURS, and provide great isolation and bass (Shure E-3's thru my iPod)

By David Gross on April 29, 2005
Great, better than headphones and perfect for what I want them for.
