Foam Sleeves for Shure E4C-Thumbs Up!
By Marty from Berkeley, CA on June 1, 2010

I've found the foam sleeves work best for my earphones under my motorcycle helmet. They allow for great sound through the earphones and also help block wind noise through my full-face helmet. My experience with the rounded, plastic or rubber dome type sleeves was less positive. They slipped out of my ears if too small and got stuck in my ears if too large. I ended up losing a lot of them because the earphone wired slipped out when I removed the sleeves from my ears.
The only downside to the foam type sleeves is they get dirty pretty quickly. Even if you keep your ears clean, the foam picks up dirt from the air or wherever you store your earphones in between uses (for me, thrown in my motorcycle tank bag). They can look pretty gross while still being functional. You probably won't want to share them with others.
With the huge variety of earphones now available, it's tough to find the right size foam sleeves when you need them. The Earphone Solution website was easy to navigate, ordering was easy, and I received my sleeves quickly.

Sure foam headphone sleeves
By larry from dallas, tx on January 19, 2010

Product arrived on time and repackaged nicely.
Pros:
Although expensive everywhere for such a cheap item, their price was the best.Cons:
Individual foam sleeves are cut in different lengths and not even in a straight line. For the amount of markup in this item, I expect greater attention to quality.I would recommend this item to a friend.

Best for sound cancellation. I use these on airplane flights. Totally cancells the droning of the engines. In my opinion, these definitely improve the bass response.

I found these too short for my ear canals and they tended to compress and lose the ability to refit after only a couple of uses. I found the Comply Canal Tips more comfortable and more reusable for the same sound quality.

Comparing the Comply Canal Tips to the stock Shure Foamies.
Small: Supposedly comparable to the Shure foamies and it's true on one side
but the tip going into the ear is tapered and I can't get a decent seal.
Friday & Saturday in extreme environments ranging from the peaceful quiet of
my bedroom to the raging cacophony of the NYC Transit the Shure Foamies won
every time. With the Comply Tips my E3's sounded thin and the bass was
practically nonexistant but when I switched to the Shure's Foam the E3;s
came alive. The ear shattering subway noise faded away to a soft murmmer as
the beautifully burnished tones of Chuck Mangione's horn filled my head. The
bass was tight the way an electric bass would sound, the drums and guitar
wound through this piece, adding to and filling out the mix.
The sleeves were subway tested both days with the Complys failng to make the
grade.
Comfort? I barely notice the foamies when they're in my ears and while
Comply feels softer to the touch, they're no more comfortable in the ear
than the Shures IMO.
No comparison, It's the Shure Foamies, hands down.
Standard size Complys: Large enough to give a decent seal but the music
sounded muffled, perhaps because of the extra material. Maybe if I cut them
down some, the sound would improve but who knows. Same testing environment;
subway, home NYC streets. Shure again, hands down!
The Comply Canal Tips look and feel a cut above the crudely, handcut Shure
Foamies but in the ear, where it counts. the Foamies are the undisputed
champion.
