Sound Isolating Technology
The Shure SCL3's in ear design works like an earplug to block background noise naturally. This enables you to listen comfortably at lower volumes-even in loud environments. And unlike bulky headphones utilizing active noise cancellation technology, no artifacts are introduced into your listening experience. Sound isolating earphones are also much smaller and don't require batteries.
Speaker Type: WideBand MicroDrivers
The SCL3's speakers are constructed with studio-grade components to produce exceptional audio clarity, delivering detailed highs and enhanced bass that allows you to hear parts of your music you've never heard before.
Personal Fit Kit
Because every ear is different, Shure SCL3 Earphones come with a pair of disposable Foam Sleeves, three pairs (small, medium, large) of Flex Sleeves, and three pairs of Soft Flex Sleeves (small, medium, large) to ensure the ideal personalized fit.
Secure In Ear Design
The soft, flexible sleeves in the Fit Kit gently contour to the inside of your ear to create a comfortable, secure fit, so that the earphones don't fall out while exercising. The SCL3's are also compatible with custom-molded sleeves, made by a hearing specialist, for the ultimate in fit and comfort.

Weighing only 0.9 oz (28g), the SCL3 is among the lightest earphones on the market.

Outstainding sound & comfort

Comments:
The SCL3s are pretty much exactly what I expected -- very clear, clean sound, good, boomless bass, and complete comfort with the foam plugs (I liked the other plugs okay, but they're not quite as comfortable and they seem to transmit a bit more 'wire noise.' I'm very happy with these phones and would recommend them to anyone.
Poor range

I bought these a while ago and returned it not long after. I was very disappointed with this product. I bought it in-store on sale for $70 CDN expecting a lot because of the Shure name and regular price.
Pros: Superior isolation, handy case, numerous earpieces.
Cons: Very limited sound range, cord hard to wrap around ear, heavy cable, hassle to put on.
So lets start with the pros. With the black foamie earpieces, the isolation is superb. I've tried other high end earphones such as the UE Super.fi 5 and the Shure's isolation is much better. Ambient noise and even any noise at all are completely eliminated. The case provided is also very sturdy and you don't have to worry about damaging your earphones. The assortment of earpieces also is great to help you find your perfect fit.
As for the cons, there are a lot of issues. One big issue is putting it on. If you have hair that covers your ears, putting these earphones is very hard to do, especially if you want the cords to wrap around your ears. The earpieces are very large even if you choose the smallest size. After you manage to get the earpiece in your ear, getting the cord around your ear is also a hassle because it's flaccid and isn't moldable to stay on. And the little plastic fob that joins the two earpieces to one cable is excessively large and is just a chunk of unnecessary plastic. This weighs down the cable and may even pull the earphones out of your ear. But the worst issue I had with these earphones would be the frequency range. The range is only from 25Hz to 18.5kHz. The human ear can generally hear from 20Hz to 20kHz so there's a wide range these earphones don't cover. The highs sound terribly rolled off and tinny. The mids may sound overwhelming depending on your taste. The bass and low end were very very weak. I'm not much of a basshead myself but I found that the bass was almost nonexistent even after I maxed the bass on my EQ. And before someone flames me or thinks it's 'cause I had an improper fit, I can assure you the fit was perfect. I've had other IEM's before.
Overall these earphones didn't suit my sound taste and had more cons than pros. I would not recommend these to most people unless you're using them for audiobooks or possibly as onstage personal monitors.

Really amazing. Probably the best audio quality I've ever heard. I bought the Comply Canal Tips. They work great - if you've ever worn foam ear plugs you'll be able to fit the earphones easily. And it blocks out almost all ambient noise. I have my iPod at the lowest possible volume and it sounds great.

one word. WOW. I upgraded from the shure E2c earphone's with these. the difference in clarity is very noticable.
Don't bother with the "flex fit" sleeves. go straight for the foam.
Very comfortable. Noticebly less obstrusive than the E2cs. Not knocking the E2cs, they are good for what they are; entry level "good" earphones.

Wow! These earphones exceeded my expectations.
They fit great just using the medium flex sleeves (grey) that were installed on the earphones in the package; a perfect seal. The foam sleeves fit great also.
What an improvement over the Apple ear buds and the Apple in-ear phones. Both of the Apple earphones kept falling out of my ears. The E3s stay in, are comfortable and I don't even have to loop the wires over my ears.
I walk my dog, at a fast walk, 30 minutes in the morning and 45 minutes in the evening and the E3s with my iPod stay in my ears.
The sound quality is fantastic, like being in the studio with the band or at the concert. The bass is not over amplified like my Sony MDRs.
Earphone Solutions delivered my headphones in four working days using USPS Priority Mail.
I am extremely pleased with my purchase.

These sound GREAT. I'm hearing things in songs I've never noticed before... Plus, this site has the lowest price I've found anywhere. THANKS!
Very well-built, strong mid-range puts the SCL3 as one of the best earphones for audio books and an excellent option for outdoors, jogging, etc. as well.
Cable design could be improved as the exit of the cable shoots straight up falling many times right across the ear instead of behind the back of the ear.
Its 2 year warranty and build quality set it apart from the Etymotic ER6i and ER4P (ER4P has greater detail on the highs but its lack of bass is disappointing). Ultra-lightweight, sound isolating earphones deliver high-performance, full-range audio to enhance your music listening and gaming experience.
It comes with a 2 Year no hassle replacement or repair by Shure when purchased from EarphoneSolutions
Best for Audiobooks and music that you want or require stronger mids.
