Etymotic Research 6i "Isolator" Earphones
The 6i Isolator is a brand new Etymotic model designed
specifically with the iPod in mind.
It is shaped exactly like the ER6, but the body and cord are white to match the iPod:

Good marketing, and I ate it up right away. These are getting quickly outdated and the drivers found on the Westone UM1 are much better. Comfort and fit are also much better on the Westone UM1. They
fit right in with my iPod’s style, which I love. But looks should play little or no role here.

Comfort and Fit
These earphones were a little less comfortable for me than the
ER6, because both the rubber and foam earpieces are so long that I had to
really jam them in my ears to get a good seal. The
earpieces felt very “big” in my ears and I could not wear them for more than a
few hours.
Sound and Listening Tests
Where the ER6’s had a bit too bright of a sound, the 6i’s are
the opposite. The upper range was
a bit muddy and less detailed than Etymotic’s other models. Overall,
the dynamic range sounded a little narrower.
