NEW SHURE SE110 EARPHONE REVIEW

NEW Shure SE110 Earphone Review

Just in!! The new SE110 from Shure!

October 3rd, 2007

We just started shipping the new SE110 from Shure (Oct 3).

SE110 packageWe, at Earphone Solutions, are very excited to be able to offer our customers this new SE model.

I just finished testing them today and I decided to write about my first impression on the Shure SE110. It is the least expensive of the SE series, but that does not mean it comes without a bang.

The packaging is pretty cool. No more scratches or cuts when opening the hard plastic retail packages. The earphones come neatly placed inside a plastic insert, separately from the carrying case and the accessories.

The carrying case has an oval shape and is soft -- very different from the hard oval cases that comes with the other Shure models. The case also comes with a clip so that you can attach the case to your waist or Girl on the Subway wearing the new Shure SE110 Earphoneswherever else you want (you’d be amazed if we told you how many customers lost their earphones!).

The fit kit comes with the new PA910 (dark foam) and the PA758 (dark soft silicone), one pair of each size, making it a total of 6 pairs of sleeves. Inside your package you will find the Earphone User guide –as usual- as well as a quick reference guide that shows how to change sleeves and how to insert the earphones in your ears. No written instructions, just pictures to make our lives easier :))

The SE110 is shaped differently than the rest of the SE series. It is very easy to route the cables behind the ears, and even though they are more “round” than the others, there were no issues with comfort/fit or them staying in place. By the way, they are extremely light.

Now for the sound quality. Wow! What a nice surprise! For just $99.99 you get amazing sound. I am talking about a single driver. The ranges are all there; crisp highs, strong mids and very decent bass. I tested it with several different kinds of music and with every single one of those, the SE110 delivered. I listened to: "My Humps" (Black Eyed Peas), "Beautiful" (CREED), "Take Five" (Dave Brubeck), "Gold Digger" (Kanye West), "Jenny was a friend of mine" (The Killers), "Sexy Back" (Justin Timberlake); (yeah, I like it all!) and I was very well impressed with the quality in all the ranges.

Girl exercising with Shure SE110

The SE110 performed very, very well and, for that price, I believe it will soon be one our best selling products in the entry level category.
