However, Milwaukee-based jazz musician and audiophile, John C. Koss, invented the first stereo headphones in the year 1958. The first headphones were big, hefty, and limited to LP music listening. They were used by pilots and at radio stations.

However, the invention of the walkman triggered many changes in headphones. At the time, there was a growing industry ready to provide aftermarket accessories for personal stereos, like headphones. These accessories became an inseparable companion for both professional musicians and music lovers. The latest generation electronics, like cell phones, TVs, computers, home theaters, CD players, and more, are all compatible with headphones.

Traditional, full-sized headphones continue to be used in some recording studios even now. However, modern headphones have a more ergonomic and sleek appearance. The ultra compact in-ear headphones are one of today’s more popular varieties. Lighter than traditional headphones, they have a vertical in-ear design that makes them much more portable. Another advantage of in-ear headphones is that they come in several sizes, so they are sure to fit perfectly in everyone’s ears. They are built with advanced technologies to provide a comfortable and pleasurable listening experience.

Each headphone has its own pros and cons, but most give a reasonably good performance. Whether you prefer snug-fitting earbuds or a full-size, padded ear-cup model is a matter of personal preference.
