Overview

Level Attenuator with Volume Control

Some playback devices, such as airplane headphone outputs, may be too loud for comfortable listening even at the lowest volume setting. For this reason, we offer this level attenuator to reduce the level of incoming signals and allow for precise volume adjustment, minimizing background hiss. Works with all Earphones.

This is jsut a two channel rheostat to attenuate the line signal--i.e., it lets you turn down the volume. It has better strain releif than the similar item from Shure but not as good as the one form Westone. It is a cheaply made item and not very durable. Expect either the rheostat or the cord to become faulty and make for intermittent or no sound in one channel or the other in about a year's time or less. Pros: Allows easy volume control. Cons: Does not hold up well. I would recommend only with the caveats I've given here and only if the Westone item was not available.

I bought these because my Skullcandy 50/50 headphones with controls for iPhone was too loud at work even at the lowest setting. I liked this product because the cord is very short, and it's black, however it doesn't work on any of my headphones with volume controls on the cord. Very dissapointing. The sound comes out very garbed. I tested this product with "regular" headphones and it worked fine. This should be noted in the product details that it won't work with in-line controls. Pros: Short cord, black, angled jack Cons: Does not work with in-line volume/mic headphones

This is the one that comes with the Westone 3. The one i got from Westone 3 broke. When it came, the female jack was bent/crooked inside causing the male plugs to be damaged if you jam it in. Also, within a few days, the entire plastic broke open as if it was not glued/secured together at all. The cable also came out of the volume control when i unplugs my earphones by pulling on the wire. fail. Although this happened to me, it might not happen to everyone, so if you need it, it is still a useful item when it is in one piece. Pros: -really useful Cons: -messed up female jack -broke apart

This worked out very well for my headphones. They are built well and there was no loss in sound quality. They could be a little cheaper though Pros: Cons:

I bought several volume adapters over the years and this is the highest quality one I have encountered around this price range. Pros: Good build quality. Nice grip, smooth pot. Cons: Size is a little big.
