Designed to live with the elements, the Image S5i has a competitive edge because, unlike other brands, it uses patented oval ear tips for unequaled comfort and a secure fit as well as incorporating over 60 years of audio expertise. These headphones are also moisture tested and the remote is rubberized to offer weather resistance for outdoor activities. The Image S5i features a unique Apple-based mic and three-button remote system for taking calls and having full music and/or voice control on select iPod and iPhone models. The buttons on the remote are slightly enlarged, making them easy to navigate when on-the-go or wearing gloves.
Amazing Comfort and FitUnlike circular-shaped headphone ear tips that put stress on the pressure points inside the ear, Klipsch’s exclusive oval ear tips naturally fit the contours of your ear canals, providing comfortable long-term wear. These lightweight ear tips also offer superior noise isolation, blocking out almost all ambient noise and providing excellent bass.
Premium SoundAt the heart of every Klipsch product is over 60 years of audio expertise beating strong. Our commitment to no-compromise performance has made us the preferred choice of top cinema operators, a leader in stereo and home theater sound and now a premium name in headphones. Each S5i Rugged headphone body employs a moving coil micro-speaker with controlled damping, allowing it to deliver smooth, full-bodied sound that is similar to a more expensive balanced armature design.
The Image S5i Rugged headphones feature powerful dual magnet motor structures allowing for powerful bass and significantly reduced intermodulation distortion, or IMD. These headphones sound amazing, with clear highs and enhanced lows.
Available in a black finish with rubber accents, the Image S5i Rugged comes with three pairs of different-sized patented oval ear tips, clothing clip and a heavy-duty safety case with a built-in flashlight and removable belt clip. The S5i Rugged includes a 2-year warranty.

Excellent sound, fit, price, very sturdy = great for music & phone calls!
By Kim from Portland, OR on January 27, 2011

I've been using these earphones for a few weeks now and I really enjoy the sound, the fit, & they are much sturdier than any other earphones that I've had which has been quite a few: Shure e3, e4, se210, se310, and Beyer Dynamic MMX 100 Premium in Ear Buds with Microphone. The base is excellent, detailed, & the whole musical and phone conversation experience is much, much better than I ever expected or hoped for.
The only down side that I can think of is that the sound isolation is not as good as the Shure earphones.
Pros:
Sound quality!!!
Excellent base that does not drown out the other frequencies.
Fit is excellent & easy to figure out left from right even in the dark. I can wear these all day.
These are very sturdy and I bought these over the 4's because of that.
The price is excellent too. Cons:
I'd like better sound isolation, but that would probably be a trade off that means that they'd be less comfortable. I would recommend this item to a friend.
good product
By Hugh from Wooster, OH on August 15, 2011

First had the S4i but damaged them on bicycle. The S5i is better if only because the wires are more substantial and easier to untangle. Used mostly on bike rides, they will always fall out of ears unless you use the sport fit, where you rotate the ear tips in your ear and wrap the wires over your ears. Like the enlarged control buttons but they are heavy and necessitate using the sport fit so the extra weight doesn't pull the tips out of your ears. Sound is very good for my tastes. These are the only two models of headphones I've purchased except for the original Apple products that came with my iPod and iPhone. Would purchase again.

Very solid set of buds
By Ben from United States on July 19, 2011

I bought a set of these to use last season when I went skiing. The oversized buttons were still usable with gloves on which was a huge plus and I didn't have to worry about getting a little snow on them since they're water resistant.
Sound quality is good, still noticably worse than my old shure SCL4s but for this range and with the intended use I was very pleased overall. The one complaint is that the silicon tips that come with the phones are very flimsy and do a terrible job of sound isolation, especially with all the wind on the mountain. Replacing them with some foam tips made all the difference in the world.
Pros:
Oversized buttons
water resistant
sound qualityCons:
isolationI would recommend this item to a friend.
Good sound, clunky design
By Rick from Utah on July 18, 2011

Sound is quite good once you find the best earpiece for you; the controls sometimes don't work well, and the clip, wires and control unit are all in need or some ergonomic re-working.
a must have
By Tony from United States on June 30, 2011

I bought these headphones to connect to my ipod nano. I jog and wanted the convenience of switching songs, pausing and controlling the volume as well as being water prof /sweat proof. The control switch is on the cord and is everything I wanted. The sound quality is excellent. I have another product which holds the ipod in a sealed arm band. If you are outside sweating/working out, these are a must have.
Pros:
waterproof the controls are excellent the clip provided lets you adjust them how you want to wear them great sound qualityCons:

Overall pleased with my recent purchase.
By Mel Bekele from Arlington, VA on June 26, 2011

The sound quality exceeded my expectation when I used the Klipsch image S5ii on my IPAD and desktop computer to listen to music and the news.
However, I had a different experience when I used it on my Sprint Android cellphone. As I tried to increase the volume, it cut me off from my conversation and took me to a different application, music on my cellphone. I don't remember turning on the music application. When I pressed it again it started calling the last dialed number repeatedly until the party I was calling, complained that he has to go to sleep. I don't think there is enough instruction to explain what the Klipsch Image S5i can do for different applications.
I would recommend this item to a friend.
Not happy...
By Krebs from Santa Monica, California on June 25, 2011

highly over rated - the fit simply sucks, after several weeks of trying - different plugs, position they still do not feel comfortable, the "sport" option - the cable around the ear does not "stay put" behind the ear...I am very disappointed with the product.
Sound Great
By Hollis from Wash DC/NOVA on April 9, 2011

These headphones are replacing a set from Shure in the same price range and I was extremely inpressed by the deep bass and overall sound quality. The build of the SI 5 seems very solid and the fit in ear is much better.
Pros:
Great sound for the price.
Great fit in ear.
Durable build quality.I would recommend this item to a friend.
