All these solutions feature an inline microphone to be used to take calls with the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS. Some have the Apple 3-button control which will adjust volume of your music or caller, skip music forward, backward, pause, take and end calls.

SHOP BEST In-Ear Solution with "built-in microphone" for iPhone with microphone attached to the cable, the Shure SE535 with the iPhone Mic Cable made the top of our list.
SHOP BEST full-SIZE headphone with "inline microphone" for iPhone -- the new Dr DRE SOLO over the ear by Monster (Dr. DRE) are also good however I think most people will be too self-conscious of wearing an almost full-size headphone to take calls on their iPhones, unless you really cannot tolerate in-ear earphones or simply prefer full-size headphones, in which case the DR DRE are great.

We used to feature other models here, but as they fail the test of time, they get Xed. Many had good quality microphones and the sound was good, but unfortunately most of the "all-in-one" solutions we tested, the microphone button failed within a few months (sometimes a few weeks) and some are pretty large names in the industry. Our lawyer advised us to simply not mention them here so if you are wondering why model A, B or C are not here, it's not because we didn't test them, but because they have some major QC problems.

Many of the other "iPhone ready" earphones with the built-in mic failed very early in the game. One model, that we would rather not disclose (don't worry, you won't find it on our site!), failed within one week and it sells for $189 elsewhere. Another one made by the same company, the "mic button" fell off. These were all brand new items that we tested. Everything that sucked got Xed from our site.
