Sennheiser HD280PRO Headphones
Sennheiser’s impressive HD 280 Professional headphones deliver accurate sound as well as convenience and durability. Designed with padding that cups the ear and forms a seal, these closed circumaural headphones provide extreme isolation from external sounds. They’re also excellent at preventing sounds from leaking out, making them a great choice for recording applications.
With their 32 dB attenuation of external noise, Sennheiser HD 280 Professional headphones are ideal for DJs who need to monitor music in high-noise environments. Their swiveling ear cups provide flexibility and convenience allowing DJs to hear both new and existing music tracks simultaneously. As party guests are out on the dance floor shaking it like a Polaroid picture, you’ll have no problem getting an earful of OutKast’s “Hey Ya!” while you’re cueing up the B-52’s “Love Shack”.
The Sennheiser HD 280 PRO headphones are comfortable to wear, even during long periods of listening. With their sturdy construction and extensive features, they easily exceed the demands of the most challenging professional environments.
From the moment I slipped these babies over my ears, it was love at first sound. The music on the Sennheiser HD 280 Professional headphones sounded incredible - clear, crisp, and perfect. I felt like I was hearing for the first time. I actually prefer the sound of these to my overpriced stereo system at home. Although the phones are not expressly "noise-canceling," you'll be dead to the world once you slip them on.
Even without music playing the HD 280’s create a pretty quiet atmosphere, and the lowest volume cuts out background noise almost completely. Do you have to deal with annoying coworkers, screaming children, or a nagging wife? Not with the 280’s – it’s instant portable peace. Sure, you’ll look a little dorky wearing these big things on the subway, but you’ll be too busy rediscovering what music really sounds like to care. All music genres sound incredible on them, but classical and instrumental ballads are slightly clearer. Heavy metal isn’t quite as clear, but considering that heavy metal music isn’t written to sound clear, it’s hardly a concession. In any event, they increase in clarity as you break them in.
The Sennheiser HD 280 headphones are also extremely comfortable. The width of the earphones completely covers your ears, and the padding on the top of the band sits comfortably on your head. Ladies will really enjoy this feature, because it will not pull on their delicate earrings and hair. The HD 280s can tend to feel a little tight and heavy after wearing them for a couple hours, but that will likely disappear after you break them in…which will happen soon because you’ll want to permanently glue them to your ears.

A great set of headphones
By Nik from Flagstaff on December 31, 2010

I got these mainly for sound engineering, but they work great for everything I've put them through. The construction is very good, the sound reproduction is great. I am now able to mix and be able to truly isolate the separate channels
I would recommend this item to a friend.
