Musical, contolled and a well balanced sound, lacking only in resolution

The Grado igi are very nice. They fit well and are very musical. They have two very prominent features - they do not get confused and are able to separate the different parts of a composition very well and they do not distort, even if you play them pretty loud. Basically they are a VERY composed earphone with a lot of control. Grado has not tried to act smart and make a earphone that tries to deliver everything and messes it up by becoming shouty. Instead this earphone is limited at some things but what it does well it does very well and this is what I have enjoyed about these earphones so far.
Downside - They are a little veiled, could be more open and have better defined bass, which I feel is a little one notish. but Grado has done a good job balancing everything. For the price they are pretty good, specially against the Bose and Klipsch S4 that people seem to love so much. The igi also is very controlled, something that took me by surprise. I had the Shure SE210 and though they were rated at a higher impedance they distorted faster and got shouty while the grado does not loose their composure. The grado sounds very musical but lacks some resolution in the higher and lower octaves. For a $89 earphone this is an excellent balanced sound.
Pros:
Control, musical, does not get confused, does not distortCons:
Could have more resolution specially at the extremes.I would recommend this item to a friend.
