The greatest you get for the price
By Patricio from Mexico City on April 4, 2011
before starting I must say I am terribly sad because after almost 3 weeks of owning and enjoying these pieces of art, yesterday they slipped out of my pocket and lost them forever.

However, I was so in love with them that right know I am ordering a replacement.

These sound beautifully right from the iPod 4G and mi PC, I haven´t had the chance to experience it through a decent setup but I can imagine how it would be.

The design is impressive and the build quality is noticeably excellent. The cable was never entangled (well, during the 3 weeks I had them). I used to own the klipsch image s4 and the in ear bose and the cable was always a mess.

With the included sound filters it is easy to customize the sound you want to get.

The definition is outstanding, the first thing I listened with them was Feral (the WAV version) , by Radiohead and it was perfect.

Coming from the bose ie, at first he bass seemed a little weak, but that was my main complain bout the bose, bass was somehow muddy. Aster some ours of listening I knew it was the right level. The sound is pure and it is not enhanced or modified by any way with these earphones, which is something that I like.

Besides, the service of this store is incredible!! Good job.

Pros:
pure sound
impressive definition and clarity
best build quality
best for the price
Cons:
none that I can notice

My pick for best headphones under $150
By Nick from Melbourne on November 25, 2010
I have a pair of Shure e3c's and a Sennheiser HD595. The reason I started shopping for another IEM is because the e3c's were not transparent enough for my liking. My personal taste is for neutral sound. I want to hear what is actually in the recording and not a 'dressed up' version of the sound. To that end, I also own a pair of Spendor A6 speakers and Musical Fidelity A1 CD Pro and Amp.

That plus the fact that I did not want to spend more than $200 after spending a small fortune on my hi-fi system is the reason that I decided to give the Audeo PFE's a shot after reading many reviews.

My verdict is that the fit and comfort are excellent. I have to agree that the ear guides do not work very well for me but the medium silicone tips work fine for me and I can achieve about 90% of the seal that I had with the Shure e3c's with yellow foamies.

Now on to the sound. If you like a really transparent sound and high end detail, you are going to love these! If you are a 'bass-head', there are better headphones for you. However, having said that, I subsequently added an iBasso T4 IEM amp to my rig and there is all the bass I could ask for while still keeping the sound pretty neutral. It also improved the soundstage significantly so the PFE's are very scalable with good amping. The other thing that I have to point out is that you have to feed it with a good source. I have been using LAME MP3's at the highest quality setting and Apple Lossless codecs only since switching to the PFE's because they really reveal poorer sources.

My final verdict is that I am sure that there are better IEM's out there but I think that you will be paying many times the price of these little gems for a very small gain. For anyone who is serious about high-fidelity, I can recommend these headphones on the proviso that you add a decent headphone amp to them. As long as you can get a good seal, you should not be disappointed.

Excellent

Although I haven't had much experience with headphones, the Audeo PFE 112 have impressed me with the overall quality. The sound is great. The build is also exceptional. I feel as though these are very durable headphones.

Good sound
By Dan from Buffalo, NY on August 7, 2011
Very accurate and realistic sounding. Could use a touch more bass. Grey filter is only way to go, the black filter is supposed to increase bass (which it does slightly), but they also appear to loose some midrange clarity and makes HF too bright. However, very happy with performance and comfort.

My First high end IEM
By Karthikeyan Murugesan from Canada on May 27, 2011
Good service from Earphone solutions, neatly packed and promptly shipped.

Great IEMs for the price. I am used to Shure sound signature and compared to that these are bright and I like it. Easily driven with my iPhone 3G or the iPod. Great clarity at low volume.

Finally I have found the perfect earphone to sleep with :)
Pros:
Fits nicely
Easy to put on (comparing to M6)
Smaller than expected, don't feel it after wearing. great for sleeping with.
Clear and wide sound
Nice instrument separation, voices are very clear.
Cons:
It's only been a week of owning and haven't found any cons.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Good earphone!
By JPM from Poissy, France on January 23, 2011
Those are my second earphones bought for my iPod after having lost the first ones.
I chose those earphones after having reviewed a lot of earphones.
I was looking for something not too pricey and for something reproducing sound in a natural way.
The Phonak seemed to offer the best compromise.
It seems to lack in reproducing low frequencies but overall, I am very satisfied since I am not fond of low frequencies and the sound I got with those earphones is detailed enough for my ears (I am not an expert).
And for listening to podcasts, I found them perfect.
I got no problem running with those earphones.
The sound is not aggressive so it is very easy to listen to music for hours.
FYI, I am using only the grey filter.

Pros:
- Detailed sound.
- Easy to run with.
- Listening music for hours is not a problem.
Cons:
- Low frequencies reproduction.

Good Choice
By John from NYC on January 22, 2011
Once I coordinated the optimum sound filter with the optimum equalizer on my iPod, the sound quality was excellent. But this took a couple weeks of experimenting to achieve. I found the over-the-ears recommendation for wearing the earphones cumbersome, so I wear them with the cable hanging down on the chest. It took a while to master the proper twist to get the phones inside my ear. Outside sounds are not as well blocked as I would like. The thinness of the cable makes it loopy and easily tangled in the hands. Handle with extreme care! The heavier and longer cable on my old Shure was more to my liking.
Pros:
Sound quality
Cons:
Flimsy cable. Incomplete blocking of outside noise.

Surprisingly good for the price
By Greg from Adelaide, Australia on December 18, 2010
I did a lot of research on the internet about noise-blocking earphones. "On the internet" because here in Australia it is impossible to actually "try before you buy"--there is virtually no stock of any earphones at any brick-and-mortar shop.

I wanted some earphones for an overseas trip, so they had to block out considerable aircraft noise, be comfortable to wear for many hours (the trip is 20+ hours in the air!), and be capable of being powered by an iPhone or iPod or laptop. Since they would also be used at home, I also wanted something that would respond well to a dedicated headphone amp connected to a high quality stereo system. And they needed to be reasonable in price.

I ordered the Audeo PFE 112's because they seemed to fulfil all my requirements. They were delivered promptly, and here is what I found--(the trip is still upcoming).

Packaging and accessories
The phones were well-packaged and arrived without damage--a must for overseas mail delivery!
Included were the earphones, a selection of 3 sizes of silicone earpieces, a set of foam earpieces, some "over the ear" guides for the wires, two sets each of midrange and bass/treble emphasis filters and changing tool in a tiny case, a cleaning tool, and a two compartment soft case for carrying everything.

Performance
The phones fit my ears best with the small silicone earpieces and slid neatly into place. They blocked out about 90% of the outside noise, and even with music playing very softly, I missed a telephone call! They are very comfortable and I can wear them for 4-5 hours easily. The over-the-ear guides work well and microphonics from cable movement is essentially zero.

Among the various reviews I read (over 90% complimentary) was one that said the midrange filters were the best--and then went on to say that the bass and treble were recessed! This encouraged me to try the bass/treble emphasising filters first. I tried the midrange later but soon went back to the bass/treble as my preference.

Compared to my previous phones (Sennheiser 300's and Grado 60's) the 112's went deeper into the bass, had smoother and more seductive mids, and highs that returned the sparkle to cymbals.

The bass went very low, much lower than my speakers, and had a very nice balance--not overwhelming the rest of the music but providing a substantial underpinning. I listen to mostly rock and jazz.

Female vocals are especially well rendered, and the midrange overall is excellent, with good presence.

The higher frequencies are clear and add a lift to the music without the over-emphasis that can often make long listening sessions tiring.

Straight from the "iThingy" they sound excellent, and they are capable of revealing much more when run by the high-end equipment.

I would recommend them for anyone seeking a reasonable cost earphones which deliver an excellent and balanced presentation of the music.

Pros:
Value.
Accessories included.
Cons:
Nothing

Had high hopes by they did not deliver
By stuart, NY from new york on October 19, 2010
I really wanted to love these. Alas they are going back. I have had the Sure E5C's (great sound but hard to put in your ears) and Kipsch S4I (they tangled in an instant). I picked up an iphone 4 and decided to splurge on a great set of earphones/microphone. Optimally, i wanted one pair of earphones that i could use with my phone while at work, use for business calls but also use for running. With their over the ear format, i thought these'd do the trick. They just don't measure up.

On the positive side, the cord is thick and sturdy and does NOT tangle easily. This is a huge plus. Unfortunately, that's where it ended.

First of all, the plastic ear fitting tubing that ships with the product is removable. While that sounds like a good thing, the fact is that the end near the ear opening comes lose and therefore doesn't do it's primary job - keeping the earphone firmly in the ear without pressure.

Second, because the tubing is loose the earbuds rotate within it which means you need to spend time untangling and reorienting the heads whenever you want to put them in your ears. This was a pretty poor build quality issue and not something i would expect from one with high scores.

Third, the fit was poor (though admittedly this is personal view and it might be different for you). No matter which ear piece cover i tried (large rubber, medium rubber, foam) i just could get a good clean seal that would maintain. They slipped out. I did try running with them but found that the foam tips would clog up and block sound in one ear.

Once i got them in, the music quality was decent but not overly impressive.
Microphone also was fair but not great.

Overall they didn't live up to the hype and will go back.
Pros:
Cord is pretty tangle free. Not many buttons to worry about.
Nice options on ear pieces.
Cons:
bendable ear pieces do NOT hold the phones in your ears.
Hard to get a good seal despite trying multiple headsets.
Sound not that impressive.

Good sound quality but a bit clumsy
By Mark from San Francisco on July 6, 2009
I bought these earphones as a replacement for my Bose, which broke after 2 years. The sound quality is excellent. The only issue I have is that the plastic inserts which fit over the wires behind the ears are clumsy.
Pros:
Great sound.
Cons:
A little clumsy to set up and use.
