Astell&Kern AK120 II Player
Astell&Kern’s primary goal is to provide a listening experience as close to the sound quality of the original recording as possible. The AK120 II meets and exceeds this goal through the thoughtful and strategic upgrades made since the release of the original AK120 Player. The secret is in the Dual DAC setup that offers an enhanced left and right channel separation with far clearer sound quality.
The AK120 II offers full support of 24 Bit/192 kHz high resolution audio files along with native DSD audio support. These audio specifications set the AK120 II apart from the competition and ensure that users are able to experience the music the way the artist intended it to be heard.
Two Cirrus Logic CS4398 digital to analog converter chips are used to provide balanced output along with an exclusive XMOS chip designed to support Native DSD support. The combination of these chips expands the soundstage and provides exceptional detail.
The AK120 II offers expandable memory up to 256GB. The on-board memory of 128GB can be increased by an additional micro SD card up to 128GB. This expandable memory is vital when listening to high resolution audio that can quickly fill a player’s memory.
An intuitive and responsive touch screen is a notable change from the previous model. This larger screen and upgraded interface helps users find and manage tracks easily. It also supports the display of album art associated with the song.
